Hi again. I am feeling quite frightened again as I duly went up to 7 mgs following flare protocol as suggested. Been on 2 days now and pain just ramping up very quickly. I’m not sure if I need to just stay in bed and try to endure or if I need to be doing something else. Pretty desperate to stay out of A and E this time.
Another question: Hi again. I am feeling quite... - PMRGCAuk

Think you need to give it more than 2 days… if it’s down to PMR… but as you mentioned back pain in last post then if it is that, then you probably need other painkillers. Do you have any? And have you tried heat/cold therapy?
Sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten.
Again, thank you so much for your quick reply. Such a life saver. The back chest pain goes into hips and very reminiscent of my PMR pain at its height. I am using my trusty heating pad and take paracetamol regularly too. But I hoped the 7 mgs would work faster- good to know you suggest I hang in there and give it more time. I think it frightens me with how quickly the pain escalates.

Is there any possibility this is more than "just" the PMR? I ached over the weekend - a UTI that developed good and proper the day after having my shingles and penumona jabs! I wouldn't normally accept 2 on the same day but I was cornered at a clinic and it was done before I could say no. They seemed to think it was a plus point not having to come back for the pneumonia one!!
I can understand your query - but this has descended so quickly and it is such familiar pain I do believe it is PMR. I originally thought maybe I had carried too much shopping etc. but now I’m sad to understand it is a flare.
