Hi all, I asked for blood tests December as I thought I was suffering from adrenal insufficiency.... pain in back , diarrhoea.Well i had blood test Fri.... Some results back not all but want to ask if I'm right to feel little worried.

Serum urea up by 4 so now 9.1.

eGFRcreat down by 9 now 76.9.

Serum calc only up by .2 now at 2.61.

Do you think I should ask to speak to Dr it will take me at least 5/6 weeks to get none urgent app.

Thank you.

The first two are all very much "in normal range". Why are you worried?

The calcium needs the local lab normal range, usually quoted in brackets after the result, and the units to understand them.

The level of calcium in the blood is normally between 2.1 mmol per litre and 2.6 mmol per litre but some labs have slightly different ranges. If your result is in mmol/L it is fine, the computer will probably flag it if the lab top of the range is 2.6 but 0.01 doesn't matter.

Hi, only because compared to what I have been 2 of them are a massive difference...They are above the top of range for 1 and under the bottom of the range for the other...the 1 that's only over just I put that in to show they where all moving in the wrong direction...

But thank you for your response...you will put my mind at rest....

What ranges are quoted then? I was going by the usual sort of ranges. The eGFR range isn't usually adjusted for age - an eGFR of 77 at age 71 is OK, wouldn't be if you were 20,

But don't worry - if any are risky, someone will contact you once they are all there.
