RSV vaccination
Itβs fine , itβs not a live vaccine -but if you are concerned then discuss with your GP -

Thank you, DorsetLady. Hope all is well with you? π
Good thanks.. had RSV vaccine a few weeks ago, all good [but no longer on Pred]. Flu and Covid booster on the cards next monthβ¦
Good to hear you're now off Pred. How long were you taking it in total? My endocrinologist doesn't think my adrenals will kick in because I've been on Pred for 7 years .. π
Been off it since September 2016β¦ but like you had GCA, so some pretty high doses initially.
Glad to say, adrenals are tickety -booβ¦
Endo may be correct in their thinking, but you never know.
There is someone on the forum who recently posted they had got off pred after over 7 years. No-one can tell but it takes a lot longer than they think for the adrenals to recover, they aren't patient enough.
Worth knowing and passing on to the Endo! Thanks, PRMpro. Hope all is well with you? π
Would be a lot better if the weather bucked up!!! We usually get wonderful Septembers and Octobers. September has been awful ...
Pretty much the same here.. rain, rain and more rain π§.. used to be just April showers.. π Take care,π
We've had 3inches in the last 3 days! And not a peek of sun ...
We've had a deluge overnight here in Shropshire πΆ local football pitch under water so no match at the weekend, drivers rescued from cars in flooded streets, some schools closed, some residents have had to be taken from their homes to a place of safety and a nursing home was evacuated.. it's sunny this morning, though.. π .. Stay safe π
Interesting about the RSV. I am 81+ and have been refused it due to age. Am going to have the flu first and think about the covid a bit later. π€
That is because it is being done as a roll-out and they have this weird concept of if you missed it because you are a few weeks too old - you don't get it!!! Lord knows why. If getting older means you don't NEED it, why don't they just wait a bit longer and save money!
The Covidence webinar for September deals with the RSV vaccine and tries to explain why various cohorts get it and others donβt. The aged 80+ cohort in the trial seems to have been very small
We have to be between 75-79 to be eligible .. π€ .. wonder who makes these strange calculations π
No personal experience I'm afraid, I've got mine on Saturday, but been off Pred for a few weeks now. Covid and Flu at beginning of November.
hello Cinka! I had my vaccination a week ago and I have had no problems, not even a sore arm..I am currently taking 2 mgs of Pred.Due for Flu and and Covid 7th and the 14th of October.
I did not have a problem and I have been on Prednisone for 4 years at high doses. Consult your GP if unsure. Only the best to you.
They ran out at my surgery, so didnt have one!
I had the RSV vaccine 3 days ago and not even a sore arm. I hope it's the same for you.
Been on pred since 2012. Had my jab few weeks ago. No probs, not even sore arm
