thanks toDorsetLady’s excellent plan am tapering well, so far no flares

However have started to get a few very small purple spots on arms and stomach,

Otherwise feel ok with just one side effects, not sleeping well. Sticking to low carb diet.

Anyone else experienced this please?

Good to hear tapering going well,

Common side effect of Pred unfortunately-just have to keep your skin as well moisturised as possible -DoubleBase is one brand often recommended -and loose fitting sleeves help protect arms.

Should get less as you decrease Pred -and hopefully sleep will improve as well.

Thank you! As always reassuring! Sleep issue not bothering me, I just turn on my bedroom tele and use my recently purchased coffee/chocolate machine!

Your tapering plan has been so useful.

Probably most of us at one time or another. I just said a day or so ago I hadn't had any for ages now I have been at 7mg for a long time - and what do I find this morning but one on my arm where I obviously scraped it against something.

Thank you. So reassuring when you know others have it too! ( not that I want other issues for you!).

Yes, and I found a really large one on my arm two days ago, and that’s after being off pred for approaching two years. It was after going out picking blackberries, so most likely a scratch from that.

Otherwise, I had not had a purple blotch for some months.

I get these purple blotches on my arms all the time though they are getting less on lower pred (I am currently on 3 and a half). Our skin is so delicate if we've been on pred for any length of time (over seven years for me). It's vital to protect our arms if we are doing anything out in the garden. You can buy long armed gloves or arm protectors.
