Just a update after being refused a second appinion i spoke to the rhumy department for a answer as to why,was told the dr i was supposed to see recomended i be refered to a nurolagist department by my Dr surgery.cut a long story short all this was to either comfirm or deny i had temprel arteris ,so off i go and see a new doctor at the surgery and got the shock of my life.no letter from the hospital gave her full history ect of what has gone on and she erupted cant print what she called them all .but in essence was why refer you to Nuro at another hospital were there is a 6month waiting list when they could have seen me inhouse at the hospital i was attending. Now i just had a new eye test as im getting double vission and have to take a break to refocuse on the tast in hand reading ect and also now getting catteracs .I am sorry for bad spelling but stroke last year has left me with nurological disease and disariea. Thank you PMR pro and Dorset Lady for the responce from my previouse post.take care all.

Sorry to hear the issues you are having… and can fully understand your GP’s reaction to the hospital’s action, or non action.

All the best to you.. 🌸

Any changes in vision should be investigated as soon as possible. Several years ago I reported double vision to my rheumatology department and was seen next day in the rapid access clinic. I appreciate that not all hospitals have this facility but you should at least have an urgent appointment arranged with the hospital opthalmologist. Your optician can refer you to hospital for further tests and if I were you I would ring them (optician) and ask if they will do this (**).

I have belatedly read your history and am shocked at the way you’ve been treated by being given the ‘run-around’ and fobbed off at almost every step of the way. Someone suggested ringing the CEO of the hospital. I believe this may be your next step if your optician (see above**) can’t/won’t help.

Just an aside to your suggestion to ring the CEO of the hospital, send a registered letter first and then ring. I did this and when I first spoke to their secretary they said they couldn't do anything without a letter, which I then told them the exact day and time they received it...
