Lots of pain

Thanks again to those who responded to me re pain all over wondering if it was a flare. Finally sorted out. I have a pinched nerve in my lower spine and moderate arthritis in my left hip. Wonders of getting old. At least I know what is causing it. Just a case of managing it.

Cheers

Glad you know what it is -doesn’t help the pain as such, but stops the worry,,,

If Flexiseq is available on Australian Amazon site, it might be good for hip .. not cheap but worth a try…

"Just" a case of managing it - but as we know, easier said than done!!!!

Very true. Doctor said the nerve pain should ease but I guess the hip is here to stay. Not too keen on the idea of hip replacement, though if it gets bad enough I'll reconsider.

If you really need a new hip, then go for it…had mine replaced [although few years younger at 72] in 2019… brilliant, and a lot easier to recover from than knee…

Yes I will think about it. When the pinched nerve recovers, I'll see how much pain is from the hip. I had a knee replacement which went really well till I had a bad fall a few months later and it's never fully recovered. Have to avoid the falls. One interesting thing I got from my Physio, is that it is important to walk with longer steps. She kept saying, "Stride, Mary, stride" and I have found it has helped.

I think when you have hip and/or knee pain it’s a natural reaction to shorten stride especially if you begin to feel a little unsteady. .Good advice from physio… keep it up! 😊
