If you have been treating a flare you can drop back down with no issue -have a look at this link -

healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk...

- but sometimes it’s sensible to try just above the dose that caused the issue - so in your case 2mg rather than 1,5mg.

However if increase was the sick days rules protocol , then dropping to 1.5mg should be okay.

Thank you. It was just a trial to see if problem with knees would be improved. No improvement whatsoever. I have now been referred to rheumatologist, but will no doubt have long wait. Thank you again.

Okay - that should be fine then… knees could be osteoarthritis- have you tried usual topical gels on them… although you wouldn’t always expect both to be affected at same time in the same way .. but sometimes we have to do our own trials… as you have😊.

What about hips and lower back? Sometimes can have knock on effect on knees…

Back and hips ok and shoulder girdle apart from odd twinges I can expect with age. Last physio I saw thought it was referred pain from hip arthritis but no suggestion of X-ray ./scan. Just exercises which I do every day to keep as mobile as possible. Thank you

Might be worth requesting X-ray

As DL says - you can go straight back if it did nothing to help.
