Pred tapering question

Hello, silly question, I am on week 2 of DL’s very good 5 week tapering plan.

Going from 7mg to 6.5mg.

(I think I experience withdrawal symptoms, as in feeling a bit ‘off ‘ and I have had the cough virus. Otherwise I am ok!)

Today I should of taken 6.5mg and completely messed up and took 7mg.

Friday and Saturday should be 7’s and Sunday a 6.5..

Should I stick to the plan or instead take a 6.5mg tomorrow, 7mg Sat, 6.5mg Sun.

Thanks for your help. 😊

You can take the lower dose tomorrow if you like, no great problem...but if you are feeling a bit "off" maybe just ignore today's blip and carry on as plan.

But just a suggestion, if you aren't sure then just repeat week 2 again rather than go to week 3... as I always say - it's only a plan - amend to suit you and your circumstances. .. and maybe would also have suggested don't reduce until you are fully over virus... 😏

Nothing is fixed in stone - especially either of our tapering plans. So just do what fits best for you.

Probably helpful to get yourself a more than a day at a time dosette box and fill it in advance instead of relying on having the brain in gear every day! You can get multi-dose and single dose ones for a week or even a month.

Hi Saffron, not really going to add anything to DL and pro's comments. I'm on the DL 0.5mg five week taper and have been for a few years. Just to agree that it is only a plan and not something set in stone. If it doesn't feel right, you don't feel well or have a stressful time coming up then don't start the next taper, but either stay where you are at or just repeat the last week or two. It may seem counterproductive but the chances are that the slower and more carefully you take it now then the quicker you are likely to get to the end.

Thank you Bcol, going slower is the only way especially at these lower doses. Have flared previously because of stress, so gently goes it! All the best to you with your taper journey x

I would do whatever is easiest for you to remember so you don’t get mixed up again!
