nausea and bloating

Good evening just wondering if anybody started to feel nausea , bloating and burping after almost 2years on Prednisolone !!

I have been on 5mg for 10 months and am doing the very slow taper down to 4.5mg which is going well , that is the only change really except I have gone back to daily 15mg Lansoprazole which hasn’t really helped .

The nausea is pretty intense sometimes , this has been going on for almost 4 weeks so I suppose I need to speak to the GP.

Did you start the lansoprazole before or after the bloating started up?

It could be due to the low dose of pred and your adrenal function not being able to keep up but it does seem a bit extreme for just that. I think you probably should see the GP about it.

Started the Lansoprazole after , think your right it’s going on to long now . So hard to pick out what’s what with PMR , probably something completely unrelated .

You can't always blame PMR and pred - though a lot of doctors try to too!

Exactly and when you are under the care of a Rheumatologist's GP’s are sometimes reluctant to “ Step on their toes” or just happy to have us odd bods , well I am, have everything down to PMR .

Not nausea but bloating & discomfort - it started on the taper from 3.5 to 3, and a friend with PMR at a similar stage has the same. Might be something else entirely but it would not surprise me were it to be adrenal related - cholecalciferol can also cause bloating so maybe a build up of that?

Yes! After nearly 2 years on PRED starting at 60 mg, but now down to 6 mg, I have stomach issues and bloating after every meal. Now I'm on PRILOSEC and it's MUCH better.
