massive flare

Hi,

Been on a slow taper successfully, down to 6.5.

First day of holiday to Tenerife, had a massive flare, I added ten steroids, ie 16.5, this for three days, has settled things down. What next please?

As usual advice for a flare is to add 5mg… I’d go down to 11.5mg or thereabouts for another 4-5 days to really make sure it is under control.

You should then be able to drop down to 6.5mg or 7mg, but it really depends on how to you feel, and what you are doing..

You did post about 3 weeks ago saying you were feeling really bad - did you get things under control fully - or is this a hangover from that?

Yes I got things under control, I had a very early start and flight for this holiday, and a long tiring day x

Ok… well let’s hope things settle and you can enjoy rest of holiday… but just be aware of return journey.

It may not have been a full blown flare - it might just have been a reaction to a long arduous day and lifting cases around. At present all I need to do it seems is go food shopping and bring the bags up from the car leaves me with aching biceps and shoulders next day!

It sounds to me as if 6.5mg is just about your tipping point and I wouldn't go to less than 7mg for a while.
