Rheumy very supportive!! on tapering

Rheumy phone appt today quite surprising. After synth. test, my results were very good...expected to be 200 before the synth injection, rising to 500 on second blood test. Mine were 429 , rising to 774. He concluded that adrenals were coming to life! Also supported my DSNS tapering, saying that many would get to zero in 3 months, but would expect me to take longer...infact as long as it takes, and booked the next appt for June. I can only say that he has had a month's study leave...perhaps he has been on the forum researching tapering and how individual we are with reactions to both the condition and the meds. Round of applause for his new sensitive approach. 👍

Definitely...he was for alternate day tapering from 3 to 2mg or more to get to zero ASAP.

Quite a change from my Rheumatologist. Hospital visit yesterday. I saw a "Junior Doctor " After questioning me about my medical history (Ovarian cancer 9 years ago, 2 TIAs, stroke, then heart attack 5 years ago, Psoriasis (another autoimmune illness and I am due to start a biologic in the next few months and Polymyalgia Rheumatica diagnosed March 2020) she went to talk to her "Supervisor ". Message from him...reduce by .5mg a month until off Predisolone. Message from me... I will reduce by .5mg (as I am doing and at moment on 7mg) every 2 months and ONLY if I am pain free!I don't know what his reaction was!

But so pleased for you that your Rheumatologist has understanding of this %$#@& illness.
