Stress--patience--tapering going well...

I've been reading the forum almost daily but haven't posted, so I thought I'd update. After getting down to 1 mg after four years, in the fall of 2023, I had to go back to 60 mg...mostly other health issues and not really a typical GCA flare. Now, after just three months, I am at 4mg, along with my weekly Actemra. I will drop by 1 mg each month now, and the bloodwork I did a few days ago looked awesome. The Actemra keeps the markers in check, but everything, including my kidney numbers, was well into the normal range~!

On Christmas Day, my husband's state of mind took a rather ugly turn, and I've been well occupied with learning the best way to live with that. I'm always picking up great info on the forum and always learning. Despite the stress, I'm just thrilled to be where I am with the GCA, so I'm optimistic. My best to all of you...💞

You are doing well with the results if your physical tests. So sorry that you are being challenged by your husband’s state of mind. I wish we could just get all our ducks in a row at the same time. 🦆🦆🦆 xxx

Hi Grammy, always good to read good news, but sorry to hear of the other problem. It's amazing, how often when things all seem to be going well, something else comes along to make things "difficult/interesting" again.

Lovely to hear from you, and good to hear your GCA is behaving, not so good to hear about other problems. Are you getting help with/for your husband? Hope so.. 🌸

He is pretty much isolating and seems to want to be alone now...I've brought his neurologist and GP up to date. I think time will dictate. His son has been around more-but that's complex. But...that is life happening all around...not for sissies. Thanks💞

Lovely news about the GCA Grammy and bloods being under control. Hope you’ve got support for your husband so that you can minimise any stressors.

Oh Grammy, I'm glad you got back down to 4mg from 60mg. I'm sorry you're dealing with your husband's issues. I hope you can somehow protect yourself from the negativity and stress from that. It is torture. Thank you for your update. Wishing you love, health and peace
