Change in Typeface - harsh on older eyes!!

Assuming it is not my PC settings, the change to the much smaller font on the initial Healthunlocked daily email is an odd and unwelcome decision. Based on the fact that the vast majority of folk on this site will be 50+ (and then some!!) – a smaller type face is not at all kind to our aging and struggling eye sight. Has the change been made by some computer wiz-kid who does not appreciate that eye-sight declines with years? Please Healthunlocked – can we return to the larger type face?

They seem to have changed the whole format with the headings coming as underlined links. Harder to read and not very professional looking. Hopefully it's just another HU "playing around" scenario and things will go back to normal at some time or other.

Glad it's not just me!

You need to complain to HU [scroll down to footer and select Help Centre] we cannot do anything to change it as users . There are many other forums using the HU platform…. with members of all ages who probably aren’t bothered by it.

HU will probably advise you to increase the size of the font on your device.. 😊

How are you reading the forum. If one a phone or tablet you can increase the size with your fingers. If on a laptop you can press Ctrl + and increase the view that way.I have to do it every time.

It isn't the forum, it is the link at the top of the email notification. The rest is normal.

Oh OK. for me it's reading the posts. Some are tiny, others normal, some big.... 🤷‍♀️

Oh right - I have noticed that occasionally the font size jumps up, never down, but I thought it was me!!!!! Maybe it isn't ...

PC - it WAS fine before they changed it! I shall ask the question as DL suggests.

The blue box that used to have See Reply in it is now a smaller blank blue box, equally irritating as it is a reduced area to hit.

But the requirements of older or visually impaired users have never been a priority of forums who think they would like to be "trendy", The forum that started all this PMRGCAuk thing was on patient.info and for years it was a restful background that was easy to read. Then they wanted to jazz it up - making it brighter and with different colours. Fine if you were techy enough to play with your settings - many weren't, Having asked for our opinions - which they got in spades - they ignored our requests. Then they made other changes which made it very difficult to use and many gave up the unequal struggle, The final straw was another colour change and even I gave up in disgust, most people had transferred here by then and for a couple of years HeronNS and I put up replies telling people to come here but it was used less and less so I stopped bothering.

Without that forum, a factual and excellently moderated safe place, none of this would exist as that was where the 5 women who got PMRGCAuk up and running met. But at least we have here which has many flaws but is reasonably easy to use.

I can only encourage you to complain to HU. I have rather assumed - like Bcol - that it is a temporary blip and I know they are fed up with my complaints ...

Actually - I have just had my daily Kindle notification and realised that exactly the same change has appeared there. Does that suggest that that is a Google thing?

I had noticed it a week or two ago and was irritated then. It is less of a problem on the computer - on a phone and touch screen it must be infuriating.

Could be - just wish they wouldn't mess about with things that are working perfectly well.. BT have just faffed about with things - and I seem to have logon again after I read a certain number of emails at times and only on laptop - doesn't happen on ipad & iphone.. grrr..
