As you may know, I posted about Fatigue recently and had so many helpful responses. I'm new to the world of steroids so my question is , do they add to Fatigue ? I have been so tired this week , is it the PMR and or steroids? I have taken your advice , lots of lovely napping which has helped !

Is prednisone interrupting your sleep? It surely can which would certainly worsen fatigue. Hang in there and take lovely naps. Bodies heal during rest.

Yes they can add to fatigue and I found they gave me a tired but wired feeling. It’s difficult to work out what is steroids and what is fatigue from your condition. In the end there isn’t really much point in wracking your brain over it because your response to it is the same; resting, tentative exercise and going with the flow. You can do nothing else at this point other than see any patterns linked to your activity, stress levels and symptoms if you have any. The replies to your old posts are worth reading again as there are some good replies there.

Both the illness and the meds can make you fatigued……I’m sure this was linked to you before, but if it wasn’t it’s a good explanation, and and SnazzyD says have another read through your original post -

I find my fatigue is a lot less than in the earlier days on pred. But I also sleep better at night now. Last year I’d take hours to get to sleep. So what I think I’m saying is that it gets easier but take your lovely naps when you need them. Take care xx
