Mycophenolate doesn't have much of a reputation in the reduction of pred in PMR. Are you trying to reduce from 20 to 16 in a single step? Skimming through your past posts you seem to have struggled with tapering all along - has your rheumy ever considered that this may not be PMR at all? Although there seems to be a version that lasts longer and it is harder to get to doses under about 12-14mg - there are several of us on the forum.
It is difficult to say much without more info. But one thing we do notice is that if you get into a yoyo pattern of reducing, flaring and going higher again, it becomes increasingly difficult to reduce as time goes on.

How difficult to have a knee replacement to cope with too. I didn’t know there was some other drug to help with reducing Preds. I have MS and notice that when I drop a little too low, my legs are even more stupid. I do hope you can find a balance which will control your pain - it’s not easy, is it? x
