I have had 17.5mg of Methotrexate injected into my thigh once weekly with a Metoject Pen since January this year.
Virtually ALL have had a problem with the safety release not working without the pen being tapped repeatedly on a hard surface. Too many have somehow leaked liquid onto my leg as well as injecting some. This could be because they operate too quickly forcing most of the liquid out onto my leg even though the needle is in. 3 have been a total failure to operate. Has anyone else suffered with these Metoject pens?

I’ve also found they don’t always deliver the total amount but pool on the skin instead. Did wonder if my technique was wrong (despite 3yrs injecting Tocilizumab without problems) so will now mention this to my GP after hearing your concerns too.
Having done some research about the possible side effects of Methotrexate, rightly or wrongly I decided it wasn't for me. There seem to be side effects with just about everything - ho hum!!
