A persistent dry cough for about 2 months (along with unusual fatigue) was what got me to my GP originally and after having ruled out Covid and undergoing 5 months of scans etc, eventually lead to my GCA/LVV dx.I have since learnt that it can be an atypical symptom... pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/224...
My question is now, one and a half years into treatment and down to 3 mg Prednisone per day (no other meds), should I be concerned that this tickly dry cough comes back intermittently at night? Not every night, not prolonged bouts of coughing, but an unwelcome reminder of how this whole story started. Might it be a flare brewing?
I have bloods scheduled in 2 weeks. Last time everything was ok.

My diagnosis has always been PMR but I also had a tickly cough - there was some evidence I may have had LVV to start with. The tickly cough has persisted at all doses of pred - but after over a year of TCZ/Actemra I have finally lost the cough!!!
It MIGHT be a flare brewing but it could be the very high levels of pollen everywhere this year. If it is only intermittent I wouldn't worry too much BUT any persistent cough needs reporting to your doctor as there are a lot of things that can cause it and some are nasty so need ruling out.
