Results of Rheumatology Patient experiences Research

The PMR PRO highlighted this study awhile back and the results are now out. No big surprises but gratifying to know that this research has highlighted some of the problems in diagnosis. Further research to follow. The link is here.

I got this email from them which has some links.

“Many thanks for taking part in the INSPIRE (Investigating Neuropsychiatric Symptom Prevalence and Impact in Rheumatology patient Experiences) research study. We had fantastic responses from patients, clinicians and healthy friends from all over the world, and the first paper has been published today and can be found at: doi.org/10.1093/rheumatolog...

These studies would not be possible without everyone's valuable input and we are very grateful for your support. This is the first of many papers on this topic. Please do email Melanie, the lead investigator on mas229@medschl.cam.ac.uk if you have any queries or comments about this paper or subsequent studies, or would like to be interviewed about any of the issues identified in the first paper.

Here also are some links to artlicles on the Cambridge University site and our Primary Care Unit site. You can see some of the coverage in the Daily Mail, Independent and Evening Standard and many local papers. Please do forward on the links to anyone you think may be interested or able to help raise awareness.

Many thanks,

James and Melanie

thank you for sharing this as someone who has several of these symptoms and most recently tinnitus, and eye issues , and feel this could be very useful on my first visit to neuro ophthalmology in September , (a long awaited appointment)
