Had managed to get down to 1mg. Last Saturday l was hanging the washing out when l stupidly tripped over the clothes prop.
Crashed to the ground, couldn't get up and lm now in hospital with a broken hip.
Had the op last Sunday and had still been taking 1mg but yesterday and today it's been upped to 10mg.
Thinking ahead lm just wondering if anyone has any advice about reducing back to where l was.
Thanks to anyone who replies and apologies if l don't reply only phones on silent and it gets surprisingly busy with blood tests, exercises, medication rounds etc.

Oh nooo! Just shows housework isn’t good for your health! It can be galling to have got so low, only to hit the long snake near the end in the snakes and ladders game of Pred reducing.
Frankly, I would say, just get through this hospital stay, get out the other side, do a limb count so to speak and see how the land lies. Preconceived plans are often pointless when you are in the early stages. It will also depend on how long you are on 10mg in hospital, how you’re feeling, how you’re healing and your pain levels. Why did they up it only now at not earlier on?
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. No idea why it's only just been upped but was just so grateful to have got in and been seen so quickly it didn't occur to me to ask!
As usual think I'm getting ahead of myself. Good job people like you are around to give practical, sensible advice.
Oh dear! I suppose there is something to be said for a tumble dryer!!!!
My turn to sing from the same sheet - one day at a time. If you are only on 10mg for a couple of weeks you will be able to drop no bother and if they want you at it a bit longer you should be able to taper quite normally, your adrenal function should have been there if you were that low. When I started pred I was on 15/10/5mg each dose for 2 weeks and then stop. The only complaint came from the PMR!
Thank you PMRpro. The same hymn sheet works for me.
Good to hear that reducing might not be such a long haul.
Had to have a replacement hip joint - no half measures. It's certainly going to make me slow down. Finding it hard having to ask for help but that's how it's got to be.
Hope I'm not too impatient with my poor hubby. Think he's got the thin end of the wedge.
Once again, practical advice, so thank you so much.

Oh, you get used to it (a bit anyway, after a while)... I learnt after my first replacement [knee] and nearly had a "head over heels" moment - got a right telling off from 18 year grandson!😂
