I have a manual thermostat. Why is it so freaking hot in here? Radiators on? Where is the thermostat? Oh…Behind a heavy wood bookcase. Drop must have turned it on. OK, clear the top, and push wheeled shelves out of the way, bit of pain bcs includes extension gang and unplugging, take stout stick, lean over bookcase and push the thermostat towards the end of the bookcase. Mostly worked, then a mishit pushed it under. Words wot a lady does not use. Mostly empty the bookcase, lots of nice heavy old books, move it forward a little, and again take stick and nudge thermostat into the open. Bookcase won’t push back but that is quite OK, I don’t want jam on it. Phase One of the operation completed. Sip coffee and flop. Clean shelves while at it, and dust down and replace books. I like it! Insufferable smirk of satisfaction at neither spinal curve nor PMR nor inability to walk without holding onto something preventing me being operational. I think I’ll be fine tomorrow because I wasn’t tired to start with – not over-doing, just doing at my usual rate of at most one out-of-the-ordinary thing per day, just an unusual one. The thermostat is now in a drawer…

Know how you felt!!! Just dropped the back door key under the freezer. Nothing else would go in the gap it to hook them out but the keys had no trouble sliding in. At least the floor behind is spotless now. The air was a bit blue.
