There has been recent discussion on having a gardening group, as gardening can really boost people’s well being. Bluepuddy, who had this excellent idea, kindly spent a lot of time to set up a Chat group for this. Bluepuddy has now left us and there seems some limitations on using the Chat facility (you can only have 10 people in a chat group for example). It has been suggested amongst the group that we may be better with a Private Facebook group.
I have set up a trial Private Facebook Group called PMR GCA GARDENING facebook.com/groups/6288051... and would love anyone with the slightest interest to join in. You can always leave if not interested. I do hope as many as possible will join in, even it is just to test out the idea.
Just sign on to Facebook and the Gardening group is at facebook.com/groups/6288051.... You will be asked to apply to join and will then be sent an email inviting you to join the group.

Just to point out, you need never have anything else to do with FB if using a private group like that. I know a lot of people are scared of FB, It has its uses!
Thanks piglette. I’ve just seen an update on the chat site. I was hacked on FB and closed my account some years ago. I won’t use the medium, so with regret, I won’t be joining but hope it all goes well for you. It’s a shame that a great idea and a thriving, albeit small, group has folded so quickly.
With regret I am in the same boat. I just don't believe anything that I am told re security and social media. I realise this means a risk of missing out but in my mind that is less than the risk involved in subscribing .
Perhaps if things go well you could have a look again in the future. It is a private group and Facebook has been forced to improve recently. I am not really a Facebook fan in general, but for some things it is excellent.
lovely idea have asked to join thank you, I know people have reservations about Facebook but I find it great for lots of things, there are lots of local groups telling you what is going on or asking questions. We have a group for our village and there are a few stray sheep posts to let farmers know!
It seems to be lost cats on our local community Facebook at the moment. People don’t seem to realise that cats run their own lives and like to wander about. Most seem to have more than one home. A day or two later there is normally a post saying that the cat just walked back into the house.
Thanks piglette. Nothing will induce me to join FB again. It’s not only the security issue. But I genuinely wish every success to those who sign up and the medium should work without the need for admin. 🌻🌻
Hi piglette, have just put first post on PMRGCA face book group. Have been enjoying others post for a while but only now had something to post myself. The kind responses have lifted my soul.Thank you for setting it up, shall hopefully post my courgette in a pot when it flowers xx
I do enjoy looking at the Gardening site. It is so positive and makes me forget all the daily frustrations and transports me to a colorful happy world! facebook.com/groups/6288051...
