The AGM starts at 11am followed by talks by consultant rheumatologists Dr Neil Basu (Aberdeen) and Dr Vinod Kumar (Dundee). There will be time for discussion and a light buffet lunch will be provided. Please phone the helpline 0300 777 5090 if you would like to attend. The meeting will close at approx 3pm. All welcome.

Although I live in Oban, conveniently, I am on holiday that week in Pitlochry so will be travelling from there. Can someone tell me how far it is from the rail station to the Hotel. I only have GCA and no mobility issues so hope to walk the distance.

The Queens Hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the station - you could look it up online. From the station you turn left and follow the main road keeping left up the hill till at traffic lights and a main shopping street. Then left again and the hotel is about 100 yds from there. Will be good to see you. Coffee is served from 10.30.  The agm programme is on pmrgca scotland website.

Thanks for the info. GCA was only diagnosed April 2015 so pretty new to all this.

Would it to ok to attend never having attended a support meeting before?

I may attend if that's ok. I am actually a member of PMR/GCA Scotland although I have neither ( it was my first " rule out " diagnosis ).

I heard Dr Basu speak at the Vasculitis Patient Symposium in London last year about Vasculitis related fatigue and he was excellent.

That would be great if you all come, I'll pass the numbers on. Dovelady, no need to be a member - the event is to increase awareness and reach out to people, either patients, carers or anyone with an interest in pmrgca. Good to hear that Dr Basu's talk is good - fatigue is a huge problem in these conditions.

Think I will try and come, live near Perth so will come by car. Do you know if there is parking?

Yes, there is a carparking at the back of the Queens Hotel, the entrance is next to the front of the hotel on Nethergate, Dundee. Will be nice to meet you, Nannie.
