Dear PMR or Dorset Lady,

Hello again,

Could I have 12 participants in my group Garden Talks ? One is a new participant and the other is me.

Thank you.

The link I copied from help facility in your previous query says this -

You can add up to 10 recipients for each message

So probably not….you plus 10 =11…

I was going to do a new list, but one of the participants has received my message. I will make sure, however, not to add any more participants.

Thank you.

I don’t think the system will let you -but who knows🤔

Dear DorsetLady,

My original idea was just to enable gardeners on the forum to contact each other. Somehow after a fumbling start this has gone beyond that and with the advice of PMR and you about the Health Unlocked computer system, has turned into a gardeners’ interacting chat forum. There is a possibility to open another, under another title. I find, however, that the new chat, refuses to take my name as a participant, probably because it will only take new names. I would like to be able to interact with the group, in order to introduce new topics etc. Would I still be able to do this ? Thank you in advance for your advice. I would like to add that this would be a final chat group solely to please people who missed out on joining the first one and the number would be limited, as advised, to ten.

When you start a new chat - you are automatically included, so you do not need to enter your name as a participant….just add the new members you want to join.

You cannot link the two chats - they will always be separate- so you will have to duplicate what you say/introduce in both..

Thank you, that is excellent. The idea is to have two completely individual chats.

Hello….I may solve it a bit, although a very keen gardener I actually replied that I already belong to two gardening forums & im trying to cut down on my daily screen time, so wouldn’t join, perhaps I wasn’t clear enough! Good luck to you, hope it goes well, I will leave & you can join somebody else into the group! Thanks, S x

Hello, Someone has been operating a bit of magic. You are no longer on the list. I will try to add someone else. Hope to be in contact again one day. All the best.

Sorry, I had forgotten that. I can’t delete anyone from the group it seems. In fact I have already exceeded the number allowed, so, unless you have been contacted, I could just make sure that any other people who want to join can be included on the next group chat list and I will, exclude you from that list. To my regret. 😀

Yes you can - you can remove a name from a conversation and I think add one if you need to

in reply to PMRpro

This is good news, as there was a note under the list to say that I couldn’t delete a name, only create a new list. I will try to find out how to delete names. Thank you.

I have just checked on line and Pixix has been removed from the list and is now a past participant.

Thank you.

Can't remember - is it the person has to decide to leave?

Hello,

The problem has been resolved, thank goodness. Thank you for your help. I think that at the moment I am limited to the number of participants in the group. I have four more people wanting to join. If this is significantly added to then I might create another chat group under another name for them, if that is acceptable. I will check that new applicants belong to the PMR group.

Really doesn't matter - a private group is a private group and you can invite anyone you like. I have chat friends from other forums. Even HU itself can't see anything in the group unless a member reports it to them for any reason. It isn't anything to do with either me or DL - we just have tried to help you get it going.

Do you maybe have some who like the wildlife side rather than the plant side?

in reply to PMRpro

Thank you. I have discussed wild life with people and this would be a good subject.
