Pesky Adrenals at work?

Hello all, for the last couple of weeks I've had horrid dizzy spells. It's not bp as I am checking that . Is this a sign of my adrenal glands trying to wake up? As advised a few weeks ago when I hit a horrid fatigue wall, I have stayed at 5mg a little longer before I reduce to 4.5mg

Thanks as always for any advice

As you’ve checked your BP, certainly sounds like it - very slow taper plan, small steps (as you are doing), staying at each dose a little longer -and patience required….

More likely them NOT waking up - but yes, patience!

But maybe keep a diary in case it is associated with something else - it isn't always PMR or pred ...

I have been having awful dizzy spells, particularly affecting the right side of my head. My recent Synacthen test showed a very good result for cortisol production ( reducing to 4.5mgs). I have a lot of catarrh that has turned into a chronic, allergy type condition - over the counter remedies have very little impact. I am thinking that it may be related to an inner ear disorder. I do not have earache but I get a lot of headaches. I nearly fell over bending to pick up a cup last night. I hope my GP can cope with 2 ongoing issues that need antibiotics.

My partner was suffering a lot of dizzy spells, especially first thing in the morning. The doctor said it could be crystals in the tubes in his ears and gave him Brandt-Daroff exercises to do for two weeks, which he has done and is now completely cured. He is so happy as he was quite worried.

I saw my GP today and this is exactly what she has done. Thank you!

Yes to dizzy spells. They make me want to say “Whoa”. Horrible but they pass quite quickly.

There are crystals inside your ear that help keep your balance. Sometimes a crystal will become dislodged and this can cause vertigo. The best way to get rid of the vertigo is to do a special kind of maneuver with your head called the Epley maneuver. You can Google it to find insurrections on how to do it. It's a very simple maneuver to do while laying on your bed. Since you don't know which ear the crystal is dislodged from you will have to do it for both ears.
