Subchondral Insufficiency fracture

I posted a few weeks ago about being diagnosed with this plus bone oedema. Not seen an orthopaedic surgeon yet so dont really know the prognosis apart from possible partial knee replacement. But can it repair as most fractures do? Anyone know? I have read that it can be caused by steroids (3 years on pred in my case). But i dont know why it wouldn't heal without an op

is a really good article about it. How are you being treated? On crutches and ordered to rest I trust? It can heal but is rather slow to do so. And it won't heal if not treated properly.
