And don’t get carried away (figuratively or literally).
You’re going shopping: picture the scene!
There will be other shoppers (and queues!)
Who don’t have the fatigue which brings one to the knees
Or the brain-fog that makes the mind freeze.
I used to be asked by a shopper-shorter in stature than I-
To please reach for a packet but now I can’t hack it,
My arms just refuse and I have to deduce
Age has made them stiffer than plastic!
At checkout your fingers may fumble
For the bank card you need for the bill,
And the bright young thing smiles sweetly
While tapping her nails on the till.
Be assured that this won’t last for ever
Sure, some may well disagree,
All I can say is I can’t rhyme any more so here is a Winnie the Pooh quote,
“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
Bless you all and all those who sail in the PMR/GCA ship where there are lots of lifebuoys, life jackets and life boats. You may sink a little but you will eventually swim. 😁..floating is also good.

Didn't you just love him when he was used as a clothes horse by Rabbit, when he (Pooh) tried to venture into Rabbit's home🤣 (for those who don't know and are interested, Pooh got stuck for a while as he was, how shall we say, a litte too large to get through Rabbit's hole into his home)....oh God, I can't believe I've just written all that🤫
Thank you so much. Your lovely poem rings so many bells and helps me feel I am not alone in this battle. I start April with hope in my heart as I take the little white pills. All the best to everyone on the journey
Thank YOU, Digyellow. Welcome to the forum. I’m pleased you appreciate the wry humour intended not to undermine PMR but to lift a little by the sharing of some symptoms and situations common in PMR (and especially for pre-and newly diagnosed and for those in flare situations). Reading it back reminds me of how far I, personally, have come. You are certainly not alone and I wish you a smooth journey to remission. 🙂
