Hi

Am wondering if I need an osteopath or whether shockwave therapy might help.I have a painful hip - it feels sore on the outside and a deep ache. It’s on the same leg that have had a knee op on 4 weeks ago.GP thought it could be related to knee.Physio is n’t sure.Have had pelvis X-ray awaiting result.Am reluctant to go to Rheumy as am now on 2 mg Pred and CRP is only just over normal (8)and ESR just over normal (21,)whereas a year ago CRP was 16 and ESR 38Have had episodes of bursitis on same hip in past but it has always settled. There is a clicks near me that do shockwave therapy.

What was the knee op?

I would think that if you have a history of bursitis and you have had a knee op it will have changed the dynamics of the leg and hip so could well have made it flare up.

I'd check with the surgical team just in case - but I can't find any reason against trying it.
