I’ve been prescribed this while tests for liver/pancreatic disease are ongoing. I read the PIL with dismay when I saw joint pain listed as a side effect. I was screaming in my head “ doesn’t my GP understand that my joints hurt all the time already” 😝 Any way 3 weeks in at 40mg and yes my joints hurt but interestingly and hopefully good news for others taking it, the joint pain is new - as in it’s not is the joints that already hurt the most like wrist and hips but in other joints that were less affected. So although I have more joints hurting there is no increase in pain levels in the already sore joints if you see what I mean. Mind you it’s a low dose and only a few weeks yet but nevertheless it’s a little ray of light 😀

omeprazole and joint pain
Oh dear! We take what we can get I suppose. Sending good wishes to you! 🌼
Hum - I really can't face the thought of more joints hurting, whatever sort of pain it is! It really is amazing how many drugs have joint pain as an adverse effects. Including pred ...
and headache is a very common contraindication which is the last thing we all need, you’d think R&D could alleviate such common symptoms in this day and age!
I wonder what sort, if any, studies they do because these reactions don't apply to everyone. I guess it would be a lot easier if pill A made the following symptoms to everyone, but that's not what happens. I've been on Omeprazole on and off, mainly on for a long time and as far as I know it gives me no adverse effects at all. Pred is exactly the same which makes me remarkably lucky compared to many on the forum. But, am I an oddity (careful what you say there!!!) or are there many others the same as me. Or, are the users on the forum a small percentage of the medication users who have problems. It would be very interesting to know.
I’ve only been on omeprazole a month and I think a low dose 40 mg per day while this cancer scare is looked into which started with terrible heartburn. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my stomach … anyway the headache is constant. I’m glad you are not affected so much 😃
