And while the endo wants you to reduce - it is very possible the PMR doesn't! At this stage it is a balance between both and I'm afraid that really PMR comes first. I would try a slower taper as DL says and be patient to see if the stiff morning legs improve or get worse - which might suggest 6mg is your dose for the present.
The now you see it, now you don’t method of reducing certainly didn’t suit me. I preferred the sneak it in quietly approach; must less upset for my body.
I think it a little blinkered of the Endo to have you reduce for their purposes whilst forgetting why you are on it in the first place, which is not their domain. Also, I know it’s a just different medical opinion, but my Endo said even 5mg could give a misleadingly poor result. I had to reach 4mg minimum to get a Synacthen test.
