blocked ear and steroid reduction

Had an appointment with the rheumatologist a few weeks back said that arm and shoulders ache . Said to continue steroid reduction and its wear and tear in the shoulder joints . Said both were equally painful and not in the socket. Sent me for X-rays. Haven’t heard the results.

Last week my ear blocked ,common occurrence every couple of years. Phone doctors and to my surprise got an appointment to see an actual doctor. In I went ,examined ear said inner ear infection proscribed antibiotics. I mentioned about my sore shoulders and back . He replied that the ear was causing the sore shoulders not PMR and should reduce from 5mg to 2.5 mg once the ear is clear.

Went to SpecSavers ear department said ear was block and no infection.

Think a vet would be better than the clowns at our surgery

Sometimes I just have to shake my head. I trust you didn't drop from 5 to 2.5mg just like that?

No I stayed on 5 . Seems once I get below that the pain in shoulders comes back

I'd stick my head out and say shoulder pain is far more likely to be PMR than his ideas.

A vet would definitely be better… but then they have to think more about a animal’s problems.🤦🏻‍♀️

They have to have clinical skills - their patients can't say where it hurts!!!

..and they can give a nasty bite or kick if they get it wrong - perhaps humans should go down that route😉

Gosh it sounds like they just throw diagnoses around like treats for a pet…
