Covid dosage 2023

Can’t believe I’ve got the wretched thing after cheating it for four years 😱😂. I’ve checked out the advised Covid sick day rules from Covid FAQs, thank you for those. I am currently on 6.5mgs and the recommendation is to split a 20mgs dosage - 10mgs morning, 10mgs evening. It seems a lot and I wondered if everyone with Covid has done this. I am fully vaccinated. I’d love to know your experiences.

I was on 7mg fully vaccinated when I got it. NHS never called me even though GP chased them to. I had mild symptoms, sore throat and more tired than usual. I was a bit scared of it getting bad though at first. I decided to up my dose to 10mg and did this for 3days then dropped back to 7mg. I was prepared to do the 10mg twice daily if I felt any worse but luckily I recovered well. I can’t advise as everyone different. Just my experience. Hope you have a quick recovery too

I think the 2x10mg level was for delta Covid and pre-vaccines. I suspect that now doubling your current dose is probably enough. But a few days at a higher dose is definitely a good move. Get well soon

Thanks Eileen. I did wonder 😀. I’ll double up for a few days. So grateful for the vaccinations. Also to the Repiratory at Home service I’d never heard of. I’m being sent an oximeter and will be called every day for a week. Impressive performance in these strange times over here x

In the US they don’t let us follow sick day rules. Since I didn’t have enough prednisone to go from 2mg to 20, I went up to 5mg for 2 weeks. Then dropped immediate back to 2mg. I still had some body aches and the other effects from covid lasted at least 2 months, but the PMR didn’t flare and that was my goal. Get lots of sleep and take it easy. I slept almost a week straight and couldn’t do stairs without being completely winded for several weeks. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I had covid on 1/10 I was at 6mg of prednisone and Actemra. My Endo had me double pred dose while active symptoms of covid. Also skipped one weekly Actemra injection.
