Alchemy8 - response to your chat

Sorry, even though DorsetLady has told me how to respond to your chat for some reason I can't seem to. Quite agree with what you say - there can be more than one aspect to PMR. Hope all goes well for you. I am currently reading about the carnivore diet but very wary about committing to that.

Did you mean this for me or somebody else?

I don’t like to see someone get no replies.

Hallo SheffieldJane - I had a chat message from Alchemy8 but cannot seem to respond. I've tried the arrow top left of the screen but that just takes me around in a circle so that I can see her chat again. If I click on her avatar nothing happens. If I click on her chat to read it then it asks me if I want to engage with it, so thought I'd just put an acknowledgement out as a post as I couldn't see any other way of doing it. Maybe she's in a different group or something (actually I am assuming it is a lady and not a gentleman but could be either). Not to worry.

At the top of the page is the word Chat and if there is a message for you the orange disc next to it has a number in it. Click/tap in Chat and a page comes up listing all your Chat conversations with the most recent at the top. Any that have a message that is unread will have an orange banner saying New. Click/tap on that message and it comes up just like a reply in a thread - the difference is, only the people who are part of the Chat can see it. And you answering is much the same as using the main forum.

They've just changed it - needless to say, not for the better - but each comment in the conversation has the person's avatar next to it. Confusing when 2 people have the same avatar. But HU doesn't think much ...

Not to worry - it doesn't work for me. I get:

This is a message from someone you don't follow. Do you want to engage with this message?

So when I click on yes I get stuck on the message and can't go any further or even go back to alerts. Is it a bug in the system do you think?

Don't worry about it - either they will see it or not.

Report it to HU Support - scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Contact us. If you don't tell them, they don't know.

I do see that with first messages from people but I honestly can't remember what I do with it - ignore it I think! I always get to see the message.

Noticed a post by Alchemy8 and clicked on her avatar and then followed her - hey presto, something happened and now I can respond. Thanks for all the advice - much appreciated.
