I'm in the hospital contemplating the curses and blessings of prednisone and the whole family of steroids. I have chronic asthma and haven't had a severe asthma attack for 13 years. Who knows maybe all my prednisone was protecting me. I've been tapering slowly and last Wednesday had a routine visit and was coughing a little. It turned out my asthma was very severe an in spasm. My doctor sent me to the hospital immediately.

It got really bad very quickly. So I'm on solumedrol, two different antibiotics three times per day,IV, and breathing treatments every 4 hours. Today is January 1st and I came in on the 28th of December. I'm still wheezing like an orchestra and see a lot of the familiar signs of somebody who takes a lot of steroids!

I still am very tired and I think I'll be here until at least Wednesday or Thursday of next week at least, I'm a thankful for my doctor. And once again! Like everything about it or not--- steroids Save the Day and me. Now we'll see what kind of shape I'm in on this is all said and done. I was Grammy80 when I started with the Forum but I should be writing Grammy 82! I hope I'm like many of you and I'm writing Grammy 99!

Happy New Year to all of you and it's going to be a new year for me, I can't quite decide where to dump 2022. 🥂❤

Morning Grammy80(82). So,so sorry to hear of your latest problems. At least your doctor spotted the problem and got you to the hospital quickly. Not the start to 2023 that you were hoping, hopefully things will quickly start to improve. Hugs and best wishes. 🤗

Thinking of you with love Grammy. Glad your doctor is on the ball. It must have been a frightening experience and as usual you make jokes. 🫢Get well soon! 🌹💖. Have a much more positive year 2023. Let us know how you get on. My steroid use has mopped up chronic ear infections from psoriasis. Weird! Rest, rest rest. Xxxx

To Grammy80 (who has the wit and imagination of a 30 year old highly paid entertainer - but not the bank balance 🤩 - and who never fails to lift our spirits) I wish you a speedy recovery and lots of good things to come in 2023.

By the way, your doctor should actually be paying YOU for being on his list.
