HU,

Plenty of related posts - common problem unfortunately. You can find related posts either on right hand side of screen or at the end of the posts on page - depends what device you are on…or just type into search facility….

Sorry to be direct, but for “at the loo”, what do you mean? 1 or 2?

Reducing dose made me sweat a lot during withdrawal and to be 15mg since a start of 60mg in Oct, you’ve done a lot of reducing.

You may have an infection (Pred predisposes you to this) or it may be Pred irritation, or signs of diabetes. However, some details will help whoever helps you. Are you peeing big amounts and are you thirsty? Does it feel like you have to rush or lose it before you get to the loo? Do you feel like you need a big wee but get a teaspoonful? Any odd smell, good or bad? What colour is it?

Have you been checked for diabetes?

Yes, I am in the same boat, as at times I am constantly urinating, and it is quite a bit unsettling. Apparently it's a common side effect of Prednisone, as many others also experience it.

I have had 2 UTI's since starting prednisone at 60 mg in August....I am on 40 mg now, but started Actemra 2 days ago and will be weaning down much more on pred.

Don't be in too much of a hurry - even TCZ doesn't take effect immediately!

I know, but the Rheumatologist wants to lower me to 30 mg in 2 weeks, then 20 two weeks later....After that I think the plan is to go slower.

My rheumy would have a fit at that - but you do have to go with them. But don't hesitate to go back if you get any return of symptoms.

I used to tell people I had been swimming. It was like I had just taken a shower. It got better below 10mg for me.

Hi I can totally sympathise as I suffered with this in the last few months. Once I started a sweating I would be drenched to the point that I would have to change my clothes. I discovered that it was the Sertraline, the antidepressants that made me sweat so much. It can also be caused by a vitamin B1 deficiency. I hope you find a solution. Best wishes

I had similar symptons - turned out to be steroid-induced diabetes. You should get blood sugar checked ASAP.

I never had night sweats during menopause but taking 80 mg of Prednisone made up for it. Check with your doctor about pre diabetes.

regarding peeing … I am not diabetic but I do notice that if I eat high glycemic carbs I’m peeing like crazy the next day. When I up the fibre (green vegetables for me) and eliminate carby carbs I’m a lot more comfortable in all aspects of bathroom activities. I also bought a $100 Cdn add on Tushy bathroom seat bidet which I love - easy to instal or so my husband tells me … this was especially comforting when I was using the toilet more frequently than I would like. Good luck.

I too would sweat profusely on the higher doses of prednisone. I am down to 7.5 mgs and sweat very little.
