off pred…. Update

good morning all.

I have now been ‘off’ pred for 6 weeks. It’s been a bumpy ride. I started to have pain in my knees and thighs, which made walking and exercise difficult( never had this before). I took pain killers and reminded myself that the HPA triangle may not be up to speed. I started hydrotherapy, which has been fantastic , I love it. I have to constantly remind myself that it’s a slow journey to recover.

but, my energy levels are much better, no hot sweats, sleeping well.

pain levels are very up and down one day agony, next day pain free.

A friend suggested I work the adrenal and pituitary reflex points which can be done on hands and feet. I have been doing this daily, and my pain has diminished hugely. I am amazed, but being a pragmatist I am questioning. So am keeping a record of what activities I do and my body’s reaction, plus a note of pain relief and diet etc.

I just want to thank all wise beings on this forum, for the support over the years.

I’ll check in again with progress.

best wishes to all, keep going.

This all sounds very sensible. We’ll be rooting for you. It could be Osteoarthritis emerging from hibernation?

yes Jane, am also thinking that. My back problem has woken up too. Steroids cover up so much

Do write us a post about the adrenal and pituitary reflex points ...

I started aquafit at the recommendation of my physio - really useful but getting dressed afterwards is the worst bit! After a shower at home I just wrap myself in a big towel and sit in front of the computer to drip dry :)

I agree, and I have to award myself a ‘wagon wheel ‘, ( conditioning from childhood swimming)

I will see if I can find a reference for the reflex points

Good, perhaps your friend can do a drawing?

there the ones Ziggy, thank you. Although they do seem to vary in diagrams. I think the adrenal point is closer in to the palm. Maybe everyone is different.

But it’s free😀
