Good morning all.

I had my biopsy on the 7th November and due to feeling a little anxious forgot to ask how long it takes takes to get results, can anyone please advise.

I think it really depends on your service provider, who is giving you the result and how. Do you have a follow up appointment?

No follow up appointment my next appointment with rheumatologist in January will probably leave it until next week and give rheumatologist secretary a call.

Noticed you have reduced quite quickly- as we said in previous posts -so how are you now - you had headaches in last post. Are they still there?

Plus if you don’t have follow up appointment until January I wouldn’t be reducing any further -are you still on 15mg?

Agree about contacting secretary next week -and please let us know, but as we said it may well not be conclusive.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently on 12.5 mg due to reduce to 10 mg on 19/11/2022. I still get the occasional slight headache after chewing food and have lots of side effects from medication, still not sure what is causing swelling to one side of face after eating,. I have not started taking alendronic acid yet as suffer from severe silent reflux. I will discuss this at my next appointment. I will let you know outcome of biopsy.

Severe silent reflux is a contraindication for AA - and your doctor should know that. There are, after all, alternatives as annual infusions.

I did discuss my concerns with doctor two weeks ago but he was quite insistent I should try it first and if had any problems would look at alternate medication.

Well he is WRONG - there is absolutely NO reason at all you should be forced to try something anyway. Do you NEED it? Have you had a dexascan? If he insists on you trying the AA - make a complaint and request to see a different doctor.
