I don't know if we can get it in Canada. I saw it in the UK Times. Am afraid it might overexcite the immune system on people like me. Thanks, Jane

The FDA in the United States have OKed it and they are usually quite fussy.

That didn't dissuade them from using the vaccines!!!!

and licensing a new medication before the trials were completed.

I know the UK can be slow in approval, but Tortoise and Hare!!!!!

Exactly. I am just so suspicious (as usual). I just wonder if it is Astra Zeneca that they don’t like not Evushield!

There is always that!

Big article in the BMJ about Evushield today, saying just what you did. They let similar stuff go through with no problem. Someone has written to Thérèse Coffey the Health Minister!!! She reminds me of that ‘Yes Minister’ sketch with the Minister for Sport, who used to chain smoke and stagger in, coughing like mad.

She is Truss’s best friend. As she does not do anything she is probably there as long as Truss is.

I am more concerned that with autoimmune disease it will trigger something.

Jane424,

I can’t say for sure. I, had a severe reaction to Pfizer:BioNTech that not only caused a flare of various AI dz, but started a 200 day migraine. I ended up getting a J&J booster with no problem. Those aren’t being offered now. But, here is info that may help you.

Also had a bad reaction to the first Moderna, although not the boosters. I’ve had two of the Evusheld treatments with no side effects at all. However, the FDA concluded Evusheld is not effective against Omicron and the later variants. I’ve seen the updates for a few months, but the most recent one I put my hands on this morning reads, “lab experiments have shown that the remaining antibody therapies (bebtelovimab and Evusheld) don’t work against XBB and B.Q.1.1. (Last week, the Food and Drug Administration warned that Evusheld can’t neutralize the latest variants, meaning immunocompromised people may no longer be able to take it for pre-exposure protection.)” I’ve skipped my next scheduled Evusheld treatment and only gotten the Omicron booster.
