Mine went off somewhere under 5mg. Hard to tell because we were having a heatwave.

I had them initially on 15mg and they started again at around 6mg. The main relief was opening the fridge door!!

You'll be fine this winter and can save a fortune by not turning on the heating ;)

Just reading the papers and there is an Embr Wave Bracelet that sorts out hot flushes. It seems to have some good write ups. The downside is the price!!

Yes! I had horrific drenching at various stages of my pred journey. I’d not long moved from Scotland to Gold Coast, Australia where it gets really humid as well as hot so some of it may have been the change in climate. Fans, air con, towels on the bed and on any fabric chairs in the living room, light weight floaty cotton and linen clothing, all the usual remedies. It was worse than my peri-menopause experience (for which I took HRT in order to be able to function at work) but the good news is that it’s almost gone now (on 1mg daily) and any episodes are mild enough not to be noticeable in public! Hang on in there…..

I am on 5mg a day and frequently get hot "head" sweats where I look like someone has thrown a bucket of water over my head. I have had less now the weather is a bit cooler but spent the summer looking like I had just got out the shower! Not conducive to doing anything with my hair as there's just no point :)

I know that feeling only too well!! 🥴

I have been having hot flashes, too, but hadn't made the connection to. reduced prednisone. Hot flashes at menopause were so horrific for me that these are bearable in comparison. But I do notice them and was beginning to wonder. I'm at 2.5 mg. Anyway, thanks for bringing this up.

yes jackswife...mine were horrific at midlife..these are annoying, but childsplay in comparison...always something to be thankful for...ho hum...🤔😉🤣

Hi T, I had them at higher doses of pred and now they are kicking off again at 4mg. Interesting to read they could be adrenals because I associated them with my flicker?/flare?

Head sweats mainly when I get overheated when travelling. I was soaked through the other day and went into the loo at John Lewis, pulled out loads of loo paper and proudly mopped my neck at the mirror, because people would think I was ten years younger having a hot flush. If I had been ten years younger having a hot flush I would have done it out of sight in the loo. Times change. 😀

My flushes have only been warm, rather than hot, but they have been several times a day, mainly in the evening and about 4-5am ever since I started on pred. The most annoying thing about it is being woken up!
