Thin skin and weak legs

Can I take multi collegen powder with 8 mgs of prednisone? I'm 86'my skin bruises if Ibrush too hard against a hard surface sometimes even the bed sheet.Been on pred 3 yrs and now have weak bones and muscles.I gave my self a compression fracture of my lower back in June that is slowly healing so i may never run the vacuum again which caused it.I saw my rheumy yesterday but forgot to ask him about taking the collegen.Thank you all for your great advice.No one else really understands what we are dealing with.

I sympathise absolutely with you, my skin, especially arms and shins are a mass of scars and bruises and I am 75 and 5 years into PMR. I have never heard of collagen to help resolve this problem so look forward to hearing from our mentors on the subject.🙂

I can't see any real reason why not - it is basically a source of amino acids that we would usually obtain from diet.

I took collagen tablets for ages but didn't notice any great difference in my skin, however the powder is taken in a bigger daily dose 2 tbsps and I've only been taking half of that for a few months. I don't think my skin has got any worse, put it that way, and the reason I don't take the 2 tbsps is because it's high in protein and if you're watching your kidney function you might want to take that into consideration. I'm told the pure bovine collagen peptides are more easily recognised by the body than laboratory made ones, so more bio available. Stirred into soup you don't know it's in there. Hope that helps.
