GCA has it gone on from PMR

PAinful eyes. I have had an headache for several months now, sore eyes and aching shoulders I have had PMR for 3 years now has this now progressed to GCA? I can feel the pulse as a pain. I also feel sick and giddy

Maybe, but any new headache should be checked.

Nausea and giddinesses could be adrenals - so it would be useful to know what does of Pred you are on at the moment.

Shoulders could be GCA or a flare of PMR - and what exactly do you mean be sore eyes?

Really need more details to give a sensible answer.

Have you got dry eyes? What sort of headache and since what dose? What dose are you on now? Last I can see you were on 6mg - are you lower than that and for how long?

scratchy eyes. they really hurt.

if dryness is causing that you can get drops for them -speak to pharmacist or maybe local optician/optometrist.

As you are down to 3mg could be the nausea etc is adrenal related, maybe have a look at this -

See if the increase helps shoulders, if so could be because you’ve gone too low.,

down to 3mg until two weeks ago Dr said to increase it temporaly whilst suffering

Bottom line, see a doctor. I almost went blind because my neurologist never returned my call when I left a message telling him I was not seeing well. I had the presence of mind to call my Ophthalmalogist and he gave me the high dose of Prednisone and saved my eyesight. Please don’t wait. You do not know why you feel the way you do. Only the best to you.
