Flare I think.

I've been aware of an aching, unlike any aching I have suffered with for several years. It's been around for about 2 weeks and is gradually intensifying towards late afternoon. Across my shoulders, my neck, my wrists.

Not enough yet to stop me getting on with things but uncomfortable.

Not addressed my Paracetamol, a bit of a giveaway! By evening I am just waiting to go to bed where I can get comfortable.

I have a blood test in the morning and am hanging on for that as I want to see what my true CRP is at this dose. Afterwards I'll increase my Pred dose. Currently on 5mg + the 30mg Hydrocortisone.

My thoughts - 2 days at 10mg, 2 days at 8mg and then onto 6mg daily until I am on track.

Then need to talk to doctor again.

Thoughts please?

Merci

Technically you are still on the equivalent of 12.5mg pred - and you were fine on under 10mg before weren't you? Just shows how poorly HC manages PMR.

Or is it something else?

Sounds like a reasonable approach BUT I'd be inclined to face up to the doc now. Or do you want to have some proof in your hand?

I won't be able to get an appt until we come back from Normandy and want to feel well for Normandy,

I'll email him and tell him I am going back to 6mg.

Not sure if it is something else. Time will tell but right now preparing Sunday dinner was a bit of an effort. Paracetamol I took with my morning meds 2 hours ago have not made a difference.

poo! 😐

I won't tell him my large dose plans, he won't understand.

Well, I think it may have been something else (as you postulated yesterday PMRpro

Yesterday evening I began to feel okay and have woken today with normal energy levels and not dull aching. Fingers crossed.

Have an appt with Dr on Thursday afternoon which I'll cancel on Thursday morning.

I am very relieved.

Normandy here I come.

if it was me I’d probably stay a bit longer on the 10mg until I truly felt better but see how you go on. Good luck and enjoy Normandy.
