I am not sure if it possibly works in rats it will work in humans but a nice idea.

Well how do you take it? Tastes disgusting as I recall. Anything is worth a try I think

I shall stick to using it for cleaning the oven!

If it does that, always makes you wonder what it does to bodies…..

I remember this being discussed when the media got hold of study results in 2018. Most of their headlines presented it as a fait accompli!.

I remember that too....I know some people that swear by it if they have the start of a urine infection.....

my friend with PMR did this and took WAY TOO MUCH. not a tsp. but tablespoons a couple times a day and ended up in the hospital. It works great for heart burn by the way. but be cautious!

Back in 2019, when my PMR became an undiagnosed issue, I read about baking soda's "miraculous properties" and gave it a try. I thought I "just" had OS. It took a couple of weeks for it to have any noticeable effect, but I was a little better for a short time. Then the nightmare intensified. It wasn't long before I was at the doctors office, close to tears over what I was suffering. PMR.

In retrospect, I see now that I had self-diagnosed and self-medicated for what, for me at the time, was a mysterious set of symptoms. I had never heard of PMR. Wrong "diagnosis" and wrong "medication".

Moral of the story is, if I had gone to the doctor months earlier, I'm sure I would have been better off! But, being a more or less typical guy, I resisted going to the doctor most of my life.

I no longer tinker with what you might call 'internet experimental medicine'. I also hope there is some real truth to the baking soda news. Waiting for the clinical study results...
