Eye Drops

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows whether being given Tropicamide Eye drops (to dilate pupils so a better examination of the inner eye can be made) whilst taking Prednisone is OK. Were there any additional problems? I have a shadow which optician wants to check out more thoroughly. Thanks.

I had more eye drops than I can remember when I first had GCA -( start dose 80mg diagnosed after sight loss in one eye) -and never had any issues.

I’m sure your optician is fully aware what he is using .

Yes, I have had them several times. My optician is very clued up. Take your sunnies.

I have drops to dilate my eyes every few months for my macular oedema and had no problems with taking steroids

I've had dilating drops several times during PMR and pred. No problems I've noticed.

Have you sunnies handy and perhaps not expect to drive home

No problems when I had mine done 2 weeks ago apart from the initial stinging which they didn't warn me about!
