Since posting on here, its fair to say that most posts have been positive, I'm continuing to progress at a steady rate reducing the PREDS etc, then bang, out comes the baseball bat and smacks me where the sun don't shine.
Started on Tuesday not feeling tiptop, Wednesday confined to bed feeling sick, nausea and body aching, same Thursday, not sure whether its a bug that I`ve picked up or a bit of a flare. Come Sunday ( today) feeling back to normal, well as normal is these days. Positivity from this group and family and friends and we keep striving and smiling. Finally for those who are due blood tests this week here is a little poem I came across by Barbara Hunt
I went to have a blood test,
A couple of days ago,
But my veins are very feeble
And didn’t want to flow.
The nurse was most persistent,
In what she had to do,
And so my arm has ended up
A purply shade of blue!
OUCH !!!!!!

Pleased to hear you’re feeling better - as you say probably just a “bug” doing the rounds, but they do have a habit of knocking you about for a while. As you’re recovering, I doubt it’s a flare, let’s hope so anyway.
Trust anyone having blood tests in near future has a better nurse than one in poem…. 😉
My good lady was feeling under the weather as well, so it was probably a bug going round, we've had the bug carriers this week ( opps I meant the grandkids ) spreading there love, woke up this morning with a bum in my face and a toe up my nose, mmmmm. Love it. Hope your keeping well Mrs.
Mine are 7 the next 5 and the little lady 5months. The 7 year old is music mad went to his first Liam Gallagher gig a couple of weeks ago and is so angelic ( I am biased ) the middle one has three 666s in his body ( what a character ) and the little one just smiles all the time, I am truly blessed.
I got a tip from a friend who works in the blood transfusion service. Drink plenty of water and stay as warm as possible. I now always wrap up and wear groves, sometimes even in summer. Works a treat, I no longer look like a pin cushion coming out.
I'm heavily invested in the water trick and so is my bladder😏 which calls for leaving the seat up before I leave home. O, joy! We do live on the edge, don't we?
I have the same symptoms from the day after my 5 th booster. Covid test negative but threw up yesterday, 10 days and counting. There is a great variation on the skill of the person taking your blood. I just regard it with detached interest now.
I envy you your little ones, mine are all in Australia. I would give a great deal to have a little bum in my face again.
Thanks for that Burnley1959, it has set me up well for my bloods on Friday! I have never given up my blood without a battle. They once gave up on me at the GPs, and sent me to the hospital blood room, where after a long struggle the nurse said to me 'DON'T COME BACK!!'. Can totally relate to Shiv14. I received the same advice a few years ago and now go for blood tests dressed in at least 3 layers plus gloves, having had a hot shower and drunk litres of water. I get a few strange looks in the summer. First job after leaving surgery is to look for the loo! Glad that you're feeling more 'normal', and good luck with The Mighty Clarets' new manager.
