Was told by my Dr.to go as soon as possible to get a urine test and more bloodwork. Can you believe I got there and he didn't call in the requisitions? He's off today. The only thing I did get was an antibiotic.Praying that helps. What negligence.

Not good enough!

Really really not good enough - he'd get an earful from me when I saw him.

Oh I will give it to him for sure.Just can't get any answers.I think he's putting up my inflammation.

They won't give us antibiotics without a test to prove that we have a UTI round here. Fingers crossed they work.

Yes he does give meds but I'd like to have known where the infection is.Three months and no answers.Thank you I pray they do.

I swear by a product called Mannose-D for UTI’s. A natural product that really eases the discomfort. In your situation though, it is no substitute for a proper investigation.

I use D- Mannose too and found it very helpful in the past. I have refrained from taking it recently, as I have to go for a bladder examination on Saturday morning 😳 I wasn’t sure if it would help for whatever is going on with waterworks at the moment. Ordinarily though I would recommend!

Yes, the last thing you want is to mask anything. It changes the chemical make-up of urine and in my experience stops the pain and irritation immediately, not the case with some antibiotics I have been prescribed . The worry is a bacterial infection spreading to the kidneys

Hadn’t thought of that one! It’s the first time I’ve had several things going off at once in the health department.

healthline.com/health/d-man...

explains the theory - this

nutritionj.biomedcentral.co....

seems a good review article.

Wish it wasn't so expensive!!

Saw Consultant yesterday for a cystoscopy. He said that everything was ok. I asked about D Mannose and he said that was fine to take for a urine infection. I didn’t have one apparently.

It is claimed that taking it long term prevents them too. How sure was he you didn't have an infection? Do you take calcium supplements? They can cause symptoms that are horribly like an infection. I had a cystoscopy in the autumn - and a repeat stretch of the urethra which in the past has ensured far fewer problems for a few years.

I didn’t ask him how sure he was, as I accepted what he said. I don’t have your knowledge and half the time I don’t understand anyway! I had a urine sample tested as well and he asked me lots of questions about other conditions too. I don’t take calcium supplements, although I was prescribed Adcal for low bone density.

Don't be surprised if you get a UTI after the cystoscopy it quite often happens and it certainly did when I had mine a few months ago. Fingers crossed for you

In facilities, where I worked, antibiotics were given IV preventatively as part of the procedure.

That makes sense.I was hoping for that.Niw iam worried cause my heart has palpitations and low blood pressure.

I was certainly told to take oral abx before the procedure and afterwards.

What is that?Iam not sure if my meds for blood pressure are too high since I've lost 35lbs.

I'm sorry - I have no idea what you are talking about. None of my replies above were addressed to you - if you look at my comments it says on each one who it was in reply to.

Do you not check your BP regularly? Even if you haven't your own BP cuff, most pharmacies will check it for you.

Makes sense, wish they had given them to me I ended up with a Kidney infection, really poorly!
