I go to my ultrasound tomorrow for my prolapse which has become very painful aft.waiting two and a half months to get to an appt.Iam feeling like it's triggered another relapse but iam on 15mg of Prednisone already.Would it help to go up two mgs so it's easier to lay on the table? It's a 40 min. test.

Worth trying - 15 is fairly low as starting doses go and when I flare I need more than that.

Thanks pmrpro for responding. This last two months have been hell.In so much pain all over.Prolapse doesn't hurt arms or neck.I ll up my prednisone for a few days.Hard as you know to care for someone feeling like this.

Good luck with that, after waiting 13 months to see a gyny physio I was given an appointment with a consultant and then sent a letter saying they realised I was booked for two appointments so had cancelled the consultant as the correct pathway was with the physio first. Floods of tears telling them it was way past a few exercises the exercises I was sent for my bad back just caused it to pop out despite them being well aware I had a prolapse. So my appointment was changed to a specialist nurse to discuss my options so ended coming home with a pessary which I so wish i had been given so many months ago. When she mentioned if it was too small it may fall out I did have visions of kicking it into a nearby bush but i think it is well and truly in behind my pelvic bones. I was so fed up of sitting down or laying down and sucking up I had almost given up doing anything. As I am sure I have no pelvic floor muscles. Luckily I didn't have pain as such, so good luck with the outcome.

I went to the ultrasound to be told the prolapse wouldn't show up.She told me she questioned the Dr wanting it done.I cried all the way to my car I don't know about how u feel with the prolapse but mine has gotten painful.Especially at night.Terrible healthcare So I need to go to another clinic for the same ultrasound in three more weeks.Iam at my wits end.

I just told my Dr I had a prolapse and he believed me and booked me into Gyny physio at the hospital, as that was the route I had to take to be referred it seems. Even if they did give in in the end. Your pain would surely change things, Surely a consultant or at least the dr would be the person to decide. Stay strong, sadly we have to take our own health very seriously and fight for what we want. I didn't have pain like you seem to be having. There must be some reason for it so you do need to stick at it,

I think you re right about the kegels not helping. My Dr told me too start them and I increased them last week and that is what is causing me more pain.Kinda hard to pull up muscles that are stressed already.

My daughter was sent for physio for a knee problem that could never have been solved by physio, it needed surgery. Different part of the body but if something is broken it needed to be repaired first...

It upsets me when I questioned what he was saying but I figured he should know what he's doing.Three months now and I don't even know what I have wrong.Pathetic if you ask me.

I needed 20 mgs to get my PMR under control. If the thought of lying on a table for 40 minutes is daunting, I honestly think you need it. I know your Rheumatologist is elusive, mine would definitely let me do that, then return maybe in two steps. 15 mgs is not really cutting it, is it?

I agree with you I went to the ultrasound all prepared and the technician said she couldn t do it.Yet I went back up to my gp and they booked the same test in another 3 weeks. So more suffering.I came out to the car crying my eyes out.

Oh no! Something similar happened to me with Urology a while ago. I had to take a taxi to another town with a full bladder. Very painful. Cost £70 and bursting to wee on arrival. Told that woman who does ultrasounds unavailable. Why did they not phone me to put it off? So sorry that you have been messed around like that.

I would be predded up to the gills to be honest, unless this phase passes of course. Your Rheumatologist ought to be back.
