Hi all I’m on antibiotics for chest infection any need to up Prednisolone please?

Do you have PMR symptoms? If so, look at sick days rules in FAQs . If you feel okay PMR wise, why increase?

Well see how it goes -and if you feel it’s necessary look at the SDR as suggested- you might find that just an extra 1 or 2 mg helps -but if you go up, then you have to come back down again! ..best to try and get through without increasing if you can.

GPs often increase pred for chest infections anyway - you should check with them if you can. Yes - I know it is Friday!

Depends on your dose otherwise.

Can I just stay at my dose 10.5 mg or will be detrimental please

No - but if you manage oK without going up it is better. But if you feel unwell as if it were a lack of adrenal function then a bit more pred might help. But I wouldn't go up unless I needed to. 10mg for a mild chest infection is probably enough.

You’ve asked my question for me! Homeopath suggested taking probiotic Opticron.. the taste of the antibiotic is vile. Woke up with it in the night!

Hi Uglow I've just had chest infection and was on antibiotics, had such a cough never gave Pmr a thought and iam at 2mg, take care x
