I had my first cataract operated on on 14th April. On 5mgs pred for PMR. (Diagnosed September 2020.)
Since then I've been very tired, with "heavy" legs, but no other PMR symptoms.
As my sight is now very "imbalanced" until I get my new specs, is it likely that the fatigue is caused by my brain having to work hard to sort out the scrambled images from my eyes? Or could the adrenals be the culprit?
I did up the pred to 6mgs, but it didn't make much difference, and I'm reluctant to increase any more.
Has anyone else experienced this?

If it is the adrenals it is not worth increasing too much anyway as you will always have to decrease and go through it all again. Hanging on on the same dose is a good idea at around 5mg I reckon. I sometimes wonder if the tiredness I get is caused by Covid although I am not aware that I have had it, but do not test that often.
Shame hope this improves soon , but may i asked how are your eyes ? my husband is having his done soon , he just cant wait , hes having really bad sight problems atm. Thanks Viv🌷
I had both eyes done about 14 months ago. Operations about 1 month apart. Heavy legs may be due to them having to help you rebalance and should improve after the second op. The balance issue is likely to create underlying anxiety and that could cause PMR to feel worse. I agree with Piglet, hang on. I thought I'd escaped Covid and have had fourth vaccine but succumbed about a fortnight ago. Definitely leaves you feeling tired and my brain fog came back. Good luck with the cataracts.
Hi. Mine isn’t a cataract story but I had shingles all of April (scalp forehead eye area) and just as it was all clearing up I woke with blurred vision in that eye. I know what you mean about the brain. I get so tired as the two eyes are fighting each other and the brain doesn’t know which one to pick so it settles for something in the middle. If I need to read or write I shut the bad eye. It does improve as the brain gets used to it. 😊 The eye hospital are taking good care of me. Here’s to a clearer brighter future for both of us. Big hugs 🤗
