Has anyone tried fisiocrem? Sounds a bit like deep heat.

I wondered if it's OK to use alongside pred. I'm not holding out much hope for it but I'm willing to try anything to sort out my neck ache!

Here's the description of it:

"Fioscrem soothing massage rub for use on tense and contracted muscle areas like the neck, shoulder, knee, back, and foot following injury related to daily activity or physical exercise, and for temporary relief of muscle aches.

Non Steroidal anti-inflammatory

Suitable for both acute and chronic injuries

99% Natural ingredients - contains high levels of active plant extracts of Arnica Montana, Hypercium perforatum (St John's Wort), Canedula officinalis (Marigold) and Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree )

Does not contain parabens or any other artificial preservatives or antioxidants

Massaging Fisiocrem creates a soothing sensation and leaves the effected ares feeling refreshed and revitalised

Quickly absorbed, non-greasy, doesn't stain clothes"

Worth a try -but as it NSAID gel not too liberally nor too regularly.

Might be wise to run it past your pharmacist to check for any issues with your medication.

Not sure it is an NSAID in the sense we think of them - I think they are claiming it is an anti-inflammatory product that doesn't contain steroids.

Must admit bit confused about that - but does sound a bit ibruprofen gel like..couldn’t find a lot of detail on it last night - but see you have.

What about St John Wort as an ingredient - us that okay in gel form?

There is no drug as such in it - it's basically a herbal cream and while they can obviously have an effect systemically I can't imagine you will absorb large amounts through the skin. But who knows!

Maybe a bit of care if you are on warfarin? Although this

tga.gov.au/alert/st-johns-w...

says

"In general, the following medicines are not likely to interact with SJW preparations:

- topical medicines with limited systemic absorption (inhalers, skin creams and ointments, eye and ear drops, enemas etc). ... "

So that sounds OK.

It sounds like other over counter topical rubs from a homeopathic origin. If it helps your pain, give it a try. If you have more concerns, ask your doc, or your pharmacist.Good luck.

Hello, please could you advise if you obtained this cream on the NHS?I wish you well. Thank you.

No, not from the NHS. My wife tried it for muscle cramp and it worked wonders apparently. She got it from amazon. Someone recommended it to her.

Never heard of it before - I have used arnica gel but it doesn't do much for the PMR, nothing does except pred. To me it sounds like a massage cream - and i bet much of the benefit is actually from the massage therapy.

Can't see any reason why not to try it.

My physio uses it all the time so I bought a tube of it but after a while I developed an itchy rash so had to discontinue using it

I'll give it a go and report back. As I said, I don't hold out much hope. Tried everything from turmeric to cbd in the past, and only pred works

My husband bought me a big tube of Udder Cream. £25 plus vat and 35% Japanese peppermint oil. Makes your eyes water, dread to think what it does to cows but it quite a good muscle and blood circulation stimulant but don't put it on just before bedtime as I did

Blimey, that's a new one on me! Not sure where I'd get that but thanks for the tip anyway.
