I've been posting and reading...and we all have so much in common and thank heaven we have each other~!
Tomorrow morn is a big day. I'll be some injections in the lumbar region of my spine. I cannot stand longer than 3-4 minutes without having to sit on my walker to do anything. Because my backside spends so much time sitting on itself, my legs are getting weaker and weaker. Just last year I used to walk up and down the street. When I made the appointment with the orthopedic doctor, I flat out told him that I wasn't interested in any surgery, just his evaluation. It seems I have some spondylitis, stenosis, 81 year old back and a pinched nerve. He referred me to an anesthesiologist who will do the procedure tomorrow. From what I understand, the pain relief I get is as much a diagnostic tool and for relief. We shall see!! Then I can work on at least walking. I do it in spurts in my house but I want more!!!!πππ
(I have a new computer and I can't find my old heart emoji.πand a lot of other things, BUT I CAN SEE THE PRINT~!!!!!!!!!

Morning Grammy, good luck for tomorrow and I hope it all goes well with some good results. Assuming you are using Windows, not a Mac, you can can use the following short cut to get your emoji icons. Hold down the windows key (key with picture of windows on it), normally bottom left of keyboard, and press the semi colon key. Then select, with your mouse, the emoji you want.
Thanks(β'β‘'β) It went well...it has been 3 hours and no pain~! Nothing. I just walked 200 yards outdoors with my walker (my legs couldn't do anymore). I'm not supposed to sleep/nap for six hours and chart the pain. It is an unbelievable relief. It is my understanding that this is not a permanent relief by any means. I'm curious to see when it begins to wear off. It really wasn't too bad, eight injections of a numbing agent and then eight further in targeting the spine and nerves all done in coordination with x-ray. I'm hopeful~!! π
You've got that right, wide awake. My approach to these procedures is...it ends. Whatever it is, usually it ends. Sure it smarted a bit but I bet the whole thing took 15 minutes. I'm anxious to see how long it lasts but right now....I'm celebrating. πxo
I just walked out doors with my walker for the first time in months....200 yards. meters?? My legs were tired and that is why I want to exercise and no pain. I keep an hourly diary for the doctor for six hours, register my pain level and what I am doing. Then I'll take a nap.π
Fantastic! You could ask if a pedal exerciser might be good for you to help with regaining leg strength. Even though I've been able to walk normally again for some time since my knee injuries I still find the pedal exerciser very helpful. If they give you a thumbs up make sure you get a good solid one! You will still be sitting down when you use it, but it does work to get the muscles stronger again so it's easier to stand and walk.
